Tom came to our attention as an IDPA Safety Officer. As part of this cadre, we were able to observe Tom's work ethic in volunteering on the set-up team and were able to observe his professionalism interacting with both team members and with the competitors as he ran them through the courses of fire. When Tom evinced an interest in coming on board we readily laid claim to his expert instructional skills and his genuine enjoyment in working with others.

Tom first started shooting after watching the shooting venues at the Atlanta Olympic Games and soon found a mentor who started him on the path to achieving Master Combat Pistol Shooter qualifcation in a very short period of time. As all of the AFT Instructors, Tom regularly attends other training in the furtherance of his shooting qualifications.

As a partner, Tom brings a lifetime of experience in working in professional sales and training. His business background contributes to a more efficient and customer oriented approach in our business.

Mark was recommended to us as an excellent presenter, instructor and shooter. Like Tom Mulheron, Mark has extensive instruction and presentation experience from his profession which translates into his firearms instruction. Michelle Frank

Michelle comes to us through our student cadre. After taking one of our classes we continually noticed Michelle around South River Gun Club, primarily helping out with various aspects of South River's very active Trap and Skeet competition community. We were impressed with her willingness to do anything, anytime, and most particularly with her interpersonal skills. After learning she was an NRA Certified Instructor, we immediately asked Michelle to come on board. In this picture, we see Michelle after firing a Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle during one of our instructor outings with the perennial smile you will see on her face.

Michelle works for the U.S Forest Service as an Entomologist and has extensive experience there as an instructor and trainer. She is active in women's shooting sports and with competition trap and skeet shooting. She has taken our long range precision rifle instructor course and is gaining the experience necessary to qualify as one of our long range instructors.

Chuck Marable

Chuck is another example of  how excellent our students become. Chuck attended our Basic Pistol class in February of 2015.  Since then, he has spent countless hours learning about firearms and shooting skills.  Chuck is active in the Glock Sports Shooting Foundation, which offers reglar opportunities for practice and competive shooting.  In 2019, Chuck became an NRA Certified Instructor and certified armorer for Glock pistols.  After achieving these certifications, he got back into contact with us and offered to assist with classes.  After a few orientation sessions, it became clear that Chuck was a true student of the shooting sports with a cool demeanor and passion for teaching.  He has been training with us ever since.

Chuck's full-time job is a software developer.  He has decades of experience in training and mentoring others in this field.  He has a real passion for teaching.  In his spare time, he is a member of the Dekalb County Community Response Emergency Team(C.E.R.T.)  He is also a former Scoutmaster.  He is currently training for other NRA instructor certifications.
